Jim Cerny is an accomplished sports professional, who has three decades of major-market experience in a variety of high-profile roles. His broad skill set includes broadcasting, writing, editing, reporting, content production, media relations, management and social media.
Cerny has been the radio play-by-play broadcaster for the New York Islanders and sportswriter with The New York Times; digital content producer/beat reporter for the New York Rangers and talk-show host on Sirius-XM; managing editor at NHL.com and Sporting News, and assistant general manager of the Newark Bears; Yahoo Sports writer and Voice for two minor league baseball teams.
Currently, he is executive editor and lead writer for Forever Blueshirts, a web site dedicated to all things New York Rangers, and managing editor for all NHL and PWHL coverage at Sportsnaut.
In addition, more than 20 years after calling games for the New York Islanders, Cerny has returned to hockey broadcasting and is the play by play voice for the Hudson Valley Venom, a Single-A professional minor league hockey team in the FPHL.
Cerny has covered the NHL, MLB, NFL and NBA, as well as major tennis and golf tournaments and championship boxing matches. He has worked alongside Kenny Albert, Kevin Burkhardt, Don Lagreca, Chris King, Joe Tolleson and Jared Greenberg in the broadcast booth.
